Original Item: Only One Available. From 1939 onward, the standard issue US Army soft cap was the garrison cap. Also known as overseas cap, pisscutter, or sidecap. Although there were variations in the lining styles, the pattern was consistent throughout WW2. This is an original WWII issue wool garrison cap for wear with the Class A uniform. This garrison cap was issued to a medic as evident by the purple & white piping. The cap is roughly size 6¾.
There is a genuine Para/GLider patch stitched to the front of the cap. The leather sweatband is in great shape, and the interior is a beautiful red/green fabric depending on the angle you view it from. The cap is in fantastic shape with almost no flaws. A great example of a sought-after cap!
